We’re being told we’re “winning,” but how is that possible when our budget was cut — again?
Let’s be clear: cutting an already lean budget is not continued investment. It’s a setback, plain and simple. We’ve heard promises before, but words don’t fund programs or support staff. Budgets do.
This isn’t winning — it’s losing, rebranded.
We need real resources, not recycled rhetoric. It’s time for leadership to match their words with action.

I'm proud that we're improving public safety by investing in the men and women of the Louisville Fire Department Over the past 2.5 years: ✅ Appointed new Fire Chief Brian O’Neill ✅ Raised firefighter pay by 24% to boost recruitment and retention ✅ Invested $7M in new fire apparatus and equipment ✅ Announced construction of the first new firehouse in over 15 years LFD has also been recognized for heroic responses from the Second Street Bridge rescue to the Givaudan explosion and more. It’s all part of our broader commitment to public safety putting resources, leadership, and trust in our first responders. #GreenbergGettingitDone | #Safer

Thank you for taking the time to visit our members and listen to their concerns.
What they want is simple: safe and reliable equipment and apparatus to do their jobs and return home safely.
Unfortunately, the current state of funding is not keeping pace with the realities on the ground. Our apparatus repair mechanics are running out of miracles. They’ve stretched every dollar, every part, and every workaround—but we’re at a breaking point.
We cannot continue to rely on aging, unreliable equipment and expect safe outcomes for our firefighters or the public we serve. We need investment. We need action. And most of all, we need it now—before the cost is paid in lives, not just repairs.

Utilization of the Louisville Fire Department is the only long term solution. Fire based EMS is what works in over 90% of urban areas. Our local suburban departments show that this model works every day.

🚨 This isn’t a budget shortfall—it’s a priorities problem.
Firefighters show up every day. The least they deserve is safe, up-to-date equipment.
🧑🚒 Outdated apparatus put lives at risk. Public safety isn’t optional.
