Yes!! LFD needs a dedicated 24 hour fully staffed heavy rescue. And that should be just the beginning! Let’s put E-11 back on track and Q-7 goes back to Truck 7. Then make a plan to fill for the next few years to eliminate the Quints and reactivate E-3 & T-10, E-4 & T-6, E-7, E-14 & T9, E-19 & T-5. And properly staff all of these! I remember when the city completed that process the first time and fire ground efficiency soared. It took a number of years to get there but it made a big difference. Then various mayors started the process to reverse all that. Time to restore it.
How about bring back tier 1 retirement, that’s a good recruiting tool🤷♂️
Or here’s a controversial thought…..Metro Government needs to have funds appropriately allocated so that LFR can be properly supported in their overall functions such as staffing a full time heavy rescue.
